This summer Homeopathy UK brought a pop-up clinic to Doune the Rabbit Hole Festival, pitching our stall right in the thick of the main stalls area, where good footfall meant plenty of curious festival-goers stopped by to find out what homeopathy could do for them.
The clinic was run by HUK homeopath Luci Joan Lawless RSHom who is registered with the Society of Homeopaths (https://homeopathy-soh.org/) and leads Homeopathy UK’s charitable clinic in the Scottish Borders based in Galashiels.
Luci arrived on the Thursday evening to get set up and ready to open the doors on Friday morning. Once the gates opened, the weekend took an unexpected turn – in the best possible way. What was expected to be a quiet start quickly became three consistently busy days!
Friday brought the early arrivals – keen to see what was on offer. Whilst on Saturday we saw the weekend crowds in full swing – browsing the site and discovering the Homeopathy UK stand and the charity for the first time.
Sunday turned out to be the busiest day of all as people came back to properly investigate homeopathy, ask questions and get treated. It was a day full of conversations information and remedies in action.
Over the weekend, Luci treated festival goers for insect bites, hayfever, injuries, a hand laceration, sunburn and back ache, showing just how versatile homeopathy can be in a real-world, real-time setting.
Luci’s stall sat right opposite the ambulance and emergency crew so Luci popped over to say hello and share some information – a nice reminder that we’re on the same side, as both are funded by the NHS in Scotland.
They returned the favour later in the weekend, visiting the stall to sign up for our updates, enter our raffle, and pick up a free Arnica remedy from Helios, along with a good chat about homeopathy’s role in accident and emergency situations.
What people told us
The response from festival goers was overwhelmingly warm. A few of the comments that stayed with us:
- “You should be proud of yourself, thank you for doing this for people.”
- “So happy to see homeopathy out in the open, it is nowhere near enough out there.”
- “Thank you for your time and chatting to me, I don’t know what you did but I feel better already!”
- “Amazing, thank you so much, gives me hope.”
- “I love this! Great to talk about what I have been looking for.”
- “I have been heading in a more natural direction, this is what I needed to know about.”
- “What, even pets and plants? Amazing!”
One lady, Gail Adams called Luci on the Sunday to share her experience: “The pain I came with has gone with the Arnica you prescribed yesterday but so has some other symptoms that I did not tell you about! I am blown away – it is like magic.”
And Lee McIntyre summed up their visit simply: “Best heartburn treatment ever, thank you Luci.”
From building a friendly rapport with the emergency services to treating everything from sunburn to heartburn, Doune the Rabbit Hole 2026 was a brilliant showcase of homeopathy in action, meeting people where they are and showing just how much of a difference it can make.
So definitely a successful weekend to remember! Thank you Luci!
